HELLO!! So, for those keeping tabs on my recovery… a quick update:
(1) It’s taking a little longer than I was hoping, but my physical therapist (Emma) is amazing and we are really trying to get me back to work on October 8th. Stay tuned & hang in there!!
(2) I *am* off the heavy meds, but still icing multiple times per day (which means I can’t leave my house for more than a few hours at a time), and on almost max doses of IB and Acetaminophen, plus Prilosec bc of the IB.
(3) My nails are absolutely horrid but it’s all I can do to keep them trimmed as short as possible. SOMEONE is going to have to give me a hydrating spa manicure before I go back to work, and I really hope it’s not me. LOL!
(4) I can move my lower arm 100% but it’s the upper one that is a problem… I can’t do more than about a 30′ angle any direction, I still have to wear my sling to sleep & when out of the house, and I still need a lot of assistance to do normal things (like get dressed, shower, eat, etc). There are two “pinch-y/pull-y” areas that stop me in my tracks; working on getting those working properly is key to getting me back to work! I’m doing all my PT, plus “puzzle therapy” (the reaching for pieces works some of that area).
(5) Today (Sept 15th) is the first day I’ve been able to use my laptop without too much discomfort. It’s website/service list/social media update time (revamping a couple things, adding a couple new services, and some price increases). My plan is to get all those updates done this week, and put everyone who has standing appointments in Vagaro this or next week. If you book your own appointments, please do not put anything in past the end of this year until I give you the go ahead.
As a reminder, I could use some financial assistance while I’m on leave. Every week I’m out is at least $1000-$1200 loss. If you’d like to contribute, my paypal is paypal.me/danakurtz1.
