*Notice it doesn’t say what month; just a season? Because I’m tired, y’all. I write these, and less than 25% of my clients actually pay attention to them. Vagaro makes me pay to send them directly to you through their site, and I don’t have everyone’s email saved in my yahoo (they’re in your contact info in my phone, but to make a list? A lot of work; the mental capacity for which I don’t have at the moment). So, a newsletter on my FB page, it is.
First, a medical update — I’m 8 months out from my original shoulder surgery, and I’m not 100%. The click/catch I’m getting in certain positions is not comfortable, and can interfere with my flow (especially at work, combined with the nerve damage from my motorcycle wreck some years ago). I had an appt with my surgeon earlier this month, and found out that my arthritis is only getting worse (duh; and my career choice is not helping. lol), and I will need a shoulder replacement at some point. I got a cortisone injection a couple weeks ago, but it doesn’t seem to be helping much. New PT protocol has me doing specific stretching exercises multiple times per week. I was also encouraged to continue my every other week massages (focusing on my neck & shoulders), Barre3 classes with my mods, and modify what I need as far as work goes. Which brings me to…
Second, work schedule mods — {a} I will be going through my schedule and may need to scoot your appointments, so I have at least 20m in between clients. Those PT stretches? I’m encouraged to do them before every work day and throughout the day, as needed. {b} I’m going to continue to insist that you text me when you pull in to the lot, and WAIT IN YOUR CAR until I say “Ok” & let you in. If you stand near the door, my co-workers (who think they’re helping, but it doesn’t) will let you in… If I haven’t said, “Ok”, it’s because I’m not ready for you. {c} I will be continuing my limit of 2 pedicures per day, and no small children (they have to be able to use my regular pedi chair). Whether you schedule yourself, or have me do it for you, if you need a pedicure, please message me to make sure it’s ok to schedule before doing so. My goal is to continue providing nail services for 10 more years, but I need your help…
Third, help a nail tech out — {a} I am about to lose two of my regulars (both are moving out of state) and will have a little more availability for new clients. If you know anyone, refer me ($5 off your service for every person who comes to me). Take some business cards to hand out (or leave in random places!! 😉 ), share my social media posts, interact with my social media posts (a quick comment can push me out in the algorithms, meaning more people see my posts, possibly leading to another client in my chair). None of that costs any money, and can really help me out. {b} Purchasing retail from me seems like such a small thing, but when you add that to my services income, it can really help. Foot files, spa scrub, lotion, cuticle oil, and gift certificates are always available. If you’re not in need (I know a lot of you are NOT using/purchasing cuticle oil… and you wonder why your nails aren’t holding up. It’s not a miracle cure, but it is a big help!), consider purchasing for a friend, family member, or co-worker. {c} I have a $50 giveaway going right now for Mother’s Day!! Check out details on my socials… Speaking of: {d} PLEASE please please follow my social media. I put a lot of work, time, & effort into maintaining those pages, and to only have 25% of my clients actually pay attention (which means I have to repeat the information to you during your appointment, times over 100 clients…) is frustrating.
